City of Angels, Take 2!

So, obviously I've hit FAIL on this whole blog thing since the whole S&M travel adventure blew up... But the roses are starting to bloom, so we'll hit the RESET button and try it again. FAST FORWARD 3 months- made it to California, me 2 attempts & finally getting my nursing license, Sarah 3 attempts, board being difficult plus crappy FBI fingerprint issue equals Sarah packing up and headed back to North Carolina. Big Bummer. Even bigger bummer our travel company put us in this trashcan of an Extended Stay, then wanted to house me in an even crappier section of town. So, here Don and I go in an attempt to find a halfway decent, 3 month lease, pet friendly apartment. Mission... accomplished?? This experience has made us evaluate and appreciate the finer things in life- such as a microwave and furniture. Oh, to sleep in a real bed. Can someone refresh my memory? Ha ha. We've also come to appreciate the incoming flight to LAX at 10:20pm, which vibrates the whole apartment, as our place is just outside the runway. Good thing we giggle about it now, because I'm sure in 3 months, we'll get a really good laugh about it!


Back to Present Day: Been laying somewhat low due to insufficient funds in an expensive town, but finally getting caught up! Got a contract at the University of SoCal Hospital in the CVICU (swans, ballon pumps, CRRT- OH MY = OH YEAH!) / ICU float. Different company. Yay Cross Country for housing me where I should have been in the first place- Mid-City West LA in the center of it all. Kudos Shelby for snapping up this position. Keeping my fingers crossed everything keeps going well because it's all gone WAAAY too smoothly this go round. I'm just hoping something random doesn't happen to blow this up, too. Keep knocking on wood, people!! I promise, pinky swear with sprinkles and a cherry on top, that I'll keep a more updated blog this assigment! :)
