So we finally got a travel nurse job at Kaiser West LA!!
h Our first adventure began on our celebratory trip to Las Vegas. We had to go to Victorville, CA (just outside Barstow) to get our fingerprints taken by "live scan" to expidite our California nursing license. We rented a car, headed down I-15 through the mountains and desert and into the smoke from the wildfires!
E It was crazy how smoky and ASHY it was that far inland! The ash was blowing around like snowflakes **cough cough**. After we finished with our fingerprints (apparently Sarah has bad fingertips- let's just hope the DOJ/FBI can process them!), we trucked it back through the desert to find Cousin Eddie's house (Vegas Vacation, anyone?)
and Cousin Eddie's airport so Don could visit customers. Apparently, the iPhone GPS decided to take us on a trek through the Hills Have Eyes down a LOOOONG dirt road to get back to the interstate... I'm not going to lie when Sarah and I were a little afraid that our rented Pontiac wouldn't make it off road. Well, iPhone hasn't let us down yet, and we safely made it back to I-15 and Las Vegas. Oh, what fun we are going to have driving across country!!! Keep checking back to see what other escapades happen!!
